Volunteer to help with Black History Month Program   

        Planning is under way for the 2012 Citywide Black History Month Program and the employee African American Heritage Network needs your help.

        This popular annual free luncheon event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at Palmer Events Center, so save the date and plan to attend. 

        Theme for 2012 is "Black Women in American Culture and History." The day's festivities include food, music and a keynote speaker.

        The program drew 500 employees in 2011 and continues to grow.

        It takes a lot of people to plan activities and help it run smoothly. Committees offering volunteer opportunities include:

       -- Ambassador/Hospitality.

        -- Decorations.

        -- Entertainment.

        -- Finance.

        -- Food.

        -- Marketing/Communications/Promotions.

        -- Program Agenda.

         -- Venue Liaison.
